Building a Strong Foundation

Highlighting 1975-1985

As Seubert & Associates, Inc. celebrates 50 years of business, we’re reflecting on the strong foundation that started it all. From a small Pittsburgh office founded by Tom Seubert in 1975 to where we are today, our story has always been about relationships, values, and growth — and, of course, helping clients Minimize Risk. Maximize Potential.

Those early days were defined by determination and strong relationships. Our first clients weren’t just policyholders, they were construction companies laying the literal groundwork of Pittsburgh, family businesses with big ambitions, and entrepreneurs hungry to grow. We’re honored to say that some of those very first clients remain valued partners with our agency today.

Our team in the 70s and 80s didn’t yet have elaborate processes or advanced technology, but we had something even more powerful: trust. Our founding team lived by a simple principle that still guides us today, always do what’s right.

During this first decade, we began to define who we were and who we would become. Our core values of Client-Focused, Resilience, Enthusiasm, Accountability, Teamwork, and Excellence (now formally known as our CREATE values) took root organically in every client meeting and every risk management strategy brainstorm.

As we look back, we celebrate those first steps and the lasting legacy they created. The groundwork laid in our earliest years continues to shape everything we do today, from our dedication to clients and our commitment to community, to our belief that the best way forward is built on the lessons and relationships that brought us here.

Watch the video to see how it all began, and stay tuned as we share more memories and milestones from each decade throughout 2025.
