
Each June, the National Safety Council (NSC) leads the charge in promoting National Safety Month—a powerful reminder of the importance of creating safer environments at work and beyond. With over 5,283 work-related fatalities and 2.5 million nonfatal injuries reported in the private sector last year (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics), there’s never been a more important time to take safety seriously.

🗓️ Weekly Safety Focus Areas for June 2025
Each week of National Safety Month spotlights a new theme to drive awareness and proactive behavior:
Week 1 (June 1–7): Continuous Improvement
A strong safety culture isn’t built overnight. It’s shaped by ongoing evaluation and evolution. This week, we encourage teams to:
- Review and update safety procedures
- Conduct safety audits and risk assessments
- Embrace safety technology and data to identify trends
- Offer refreshed safety training with hands-on components

Week 2 (June 8–14): Employee Engagement
Safety is a team sport. When employees are engaged, they’re more likely to speak up, participate, and stay alert.

Week 3 (June 15–21): Roadway Safety

- Ensure only properly licensed, qualified drivers operate vehicles
