Growth Under Pressure

Highlighting 1985-1995

By the mid-1980s, Seubert & Associates, Inc. had established itself as a trusted partner in the trucking and franchise dealership space — a regional commercial insurance agency grounded in deep relationships, grit, and a strong client-focused mentality.

But like many great stories, ours faced a turning point. The years ahead would bring profound change and test the very foundation on which our agency was built. It wasn’t easy, but it was transformative.

After the unexpected passing of our founder, Tom Seubert, something remarkable happened: our people stepped up. Tom’s nephew, Brian Long, took on the role of president, and with him came a fresh vision rooted in shared purpose, integrity, and resilience. Together, the team made a choice — not just to carry on, but to grow, adapt, and reimagine what Seubert could become.

We expanded our offerings from more than just commercial and personal insurance policies. We saw the need to better serve our clients in more comprehensive ways — launching our surety bonding and employee benefits practices, and beginning to think differently about risk, service, and support.

It was during this chapter that our culture began to take deeper shape. We weren’t just an insurance agency, but a unified and collaborative team. One that put clients first and relied on each other to do hard things well. Teamwork wasn’t just a value; it became a lifeline.

And while we helped our clients navigate risk with greater confidence, we were navigating our own — growing through uncertainty, making tough decisions, and learning what it meant to be resilient in the truest sense of the word.

This decade wasn’t defined by smooth sailing — it was defined by resilience, teamwork, and accountability. The late ‘80s and early ‘90s tested us, but we showed up, supported one another, and turned challenge into opportunity. What could have been a setback became the launchpad for the Seubert Team you know today.
