Seubert Enhances Claims Management with New Structure, New Hires
PITTSBURGH, April 8, 2008 — Seubert & Associates today unveiled an improved approach to managing its clients’ claims. Each of the firm’s commercial accounts is now allocated its own After-Accident Advisor, or AAA, a seasoned professional providing clients a single point-of-contact for all claims.
“Our dedicated in-house claims team has always been an asset to serving our customers, and restructuring that team into client-dedicated AAAs enables us to play an even more effective role in claims management. Clients have a single person to call regarding claims and their AAA knows their entire claims picture,” said Brian Long, president of Seubert & Associates.
A client’s AAA serves as claims advocate from the time a claim has occurred through resolution, facilitating the process with insurance carriers and adjusters, or negligent parties when the client is not at fault. AAAs work to ensure that clients consistently receive the highest level of service from their insurance carrier and the maximum benefit from their policies. They monitor open claims with incurred values of $25,000 or higher and report regularly to the client on the status. In addition, AAAs can provide claim audits, summary reports and analysis of experience modification and loss history in order to reduce the duration, value and ultimate costs of claims for a client. Three After-Accident Advisors are currently on staff. In addition to Connie Acker and Elizabeth Pesce, both of whom have 20 years of experience in Seubert’s claims department, the agency has hired Chris Gove, a 35-year veteran of the insurance industry. Ms. Gove joined Seubert from York Claims Service, where she was branch manager of the Pittsburgh office and then complex claims analyst. Prior positions include district claims manager for Harleysville Insurance, division claims manager at CNA, and technical claims manager at Kemper Insurance.
Supporting the AAA team is another new hire, Louise Manfredi, who has 47 years of claims management experience. Ms. Manfredi has worked in nearly all phases of the insurance business, handling everything from trucking PUC filings to USAirways workers’ compensation claims to claims for an insurance captive. She was chief investigator for the City of Pittsburgh and an adjuster with various carriers, including CNA, American States, St. Paul and Zurich. “I don’t think you’ll find a more experienced claims staff than what we’ve assembled at Seubert. Their knowledge, combined with the new AAA structure, make for a great resource for our customers,” said Mr. Long.
